You do realize that developing type 1 diabetes has absolutely zero to do with lifestyle, don't you? Cutler didn't get type 1 because he's been eating too many sausage biscuits or Big Macs. Scientists don't even understand why type 1 develops. Type 1 is an auto-immune disorder. Some unknown factor – a genetic predisposition combined with possibly a virus or exposure to something in the environment, not Big Macs - causes the immune system to attack the insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas and destroy them. Type 1 diabetics require insulin for life because the auto-immune response prevents beta cell regeneration. Type 1 diabetes cannot be managed with diet and exercise alone, and oral medications are useless. No one can do anything to prevent it or predict it. It used to be called juvenile diabetes, but adults can obviously develop it too so now the American Diabetes Association calls it type 1 in order to differentiate it from type 2, which is actually a completely different disease with different etiology and different presentation. While type 1's have to count carbs in order to correctly dose their insulin, they are no longer subject to the diabetic diet of old now that the medical community has a better understanding of how to manage it. Ideally, they'll eat a balanced diet that can easily incorporate indulgences like fast food or desserts as long as it's in moderation. Before you start spouting off about a disease that you clearly don't know anything about, try doing a little research first. It's internet dribble like this that perpetuates myths and misconceptions about type 1 diabetes that type 1 diabetics like myself are constantly having to correct.

Did you not see the words both above and below the video? He said "Is this responsible?", the title of the post, and then he said "I'm not saying anything, but I'm just sayin..."
He didn't have to say much, but the implications are there, and based on previous comments, people understood exactly what he was trying to imply.
If anything, why isn't anyone crucifying the NFL for airing McDonald's commercials AND promoting their NFLPlay60 initiative?
I asked you that first DB. There was nothing said. I can appreciate you wanting to educate people on the difference, but for fuck sake, quit reading shit into something where there is nothing said. You specifically said 'internet dribble' when there was nothing at all. In fact, if you can't simply just read a little humor into it, which is the sole intention of 99.999% HR's blogs, then you are clearly not paying enough attention. You are so ridiculously sensitive about the issue that you are willing to overlook the fact that 1) it's just a stupid commercial available for anyone to make fun of 2) applying your own assumptions on words that have no meaning. Please, run off and find another blog while trying to save the world from itself, I believe most everyone on here is just fine going straight to hell on our own.
