It's over

IN: Josh McDaniels, Head Coach

Good choice. The guy I've wanted since New Years Eve. The development of Jay Cutler is priority number one for this franchise and hiring McDaniels is the way to do it. Even if it means Jeremy Bates has to go.

Also IN: Dom Capers, D-Coordinator.

Former HC in Carolina and Houston, poached from NE by the new guy. Probably also means a switch to a 3-4. Almost as good a move as McDaniels. UPDATE: This might not be true. Others are saying former 49ers HC Mike Nolan will be the new DC. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

It's a new day, people.

You think they'll get rid of Bates? Cutler obviously wants him, and I don't think McDaniels will want to piss off the young franchise QB.

I bet they can see eye-to-eye enough on strategy. Plus, he's going to have his hands full fixing the D and special teams.

I just hope that if Bates does stick around it's because Mac wants to keep him, not because Bowlen or Cutler wants to keep him.

This is McDaniels team now and if he wants to come in and clean house with respect to the offensive coaching staff, I'm fine with that.

Even if that means Cut loses his security blanket and Bobby Turner has to find work elsewhere.

I think either Capers or Nolan will turn the D around.

I was hoping for Capers, but I think Nolan can do it. Just probably not next year.

Here's to 5-11!

So who moves into the GM position?

Do you think JMac will let Nolan rock the 'Reservoir Dogs' suit and tie look he had in SF? That would be cool. He would look like JMac's suave uncle.

Did Pioli sign anywhere, or does this put us at the top of his list?

I thought I heard Bowlen say he was going to stick with the family Goodman and Brian Xanders.
